Questions
What is the difference between the two passwords?
The user password is needed to open the document at all. The owner password governs permissions such as printing and copying, and can be set without an open password.
Do permission restrictions really stop anyone?
They are honoured by mainstream readers, but permissions on an openable PDF are a convention, not a cryptographic guarantee. A user password is the real protection.
Security note
Files are checked to be what they claim (by content, not extension), processed in a sandboxed worker with no network, and deleted on the schedule your plan sets. We do not run antivirus and do not claim to — please do not upload files you do not trust. Read the security page.
